Spring has officially sprung, and the last few wee

Spring has officially sprung, and the last few weeks have been FULL!

Projects in the yard, school, birthday parties, a dance, a few impromptu shopping trips, our church’s annual bake sale, the start of spring sessions and editing… and lots of time spent in the kitchen.

The longer days and busy schedule mean that by the time I crawl into bed, I’m out instantly.

But honestly? I wouldn’t change it.

I love this time of year…new growth, fresh ideas, and so much sunshine.

And a little hint to my Oklahoma engaged couples… you might want to consider more spring engagement sessions… they’re kind of stunning 😉

P.S. I have discovered that aside from my kids I apparently only take pictures when we are cooking 😝

This was filmed last week—the day after I shot a (rare) senior session. Most of my work blocks are spent editing weddings and engagement sessions, whether for my own couples, or for my editing clients.

My most focused work time happens in the quiet hours before my kids wake up, and on a good day I’ll squeeze in another hour or two during nap time while the big kids are outside playing, building Lego, or getting creative with crafts.
When I need to, I’ll catch up in the evenings after bedtime or on weekends, but I try to be really intentional about getting as much done as I can during those earlier pockets so I can be fully present with my husband and kiddos later on.

We also usually spend at least one afternoon each week out of the house...running errands or meeting up with friends for a playdate (which always ends up being a breath of fresh air to break up our week)

It would be nearly impossible to show every single thing that happens but here are the highlights, with lots of pauses, guidance, and snuggles in between. No two days look exactly the same around here, but here’s a little peek into a semi-typical day in my life 🤍

When people ask what you do, they usually mean for

When people ask what you do, they usually mean for work.

But the reality is… that’s only a tiny slice of the story.

“Wedding Photographer” and “Private Editor” may be my work titles, but they barely scratch the surface of what my life actually looks like.

Wife, mother, homechool teacher, homemaker, sister, daughter, believer.

I’m a serial hobbyist with my toes dipped in a plethora of crafts.
I crochet on the regular. I love to bake. I’m passionate about cooking from scratch and feeding my family nourishing real food

I love music, reading, writing, and telling stories.
And honestly, that love of storytelling is what drew me to photography in the first place.

The ability to capture an image that tells part of someone’s story.
A small window into their life—who they are and what they care about.

Because when you really think about it,
photography isn’t just about beautiful images.
It’s about preserving the stories we never want to forget.

For a couple of weeks everything softens. The light feels gentle, the air is fresh, and the blooms create the dreamiest layers in photos.

Or kissing their newborn’s head for the very first time.

Life is built in these simple moments.
